A hip injury suffered at the Brisbane International has compelled Rafael Nadal to withdraw from the Australian Open 2024. The 22-time Grand Slam champion, victorious at Melbourne Park in 2022, regretfully announced his inability to participate.

Nadal incurred the hip injury during a second-round defeat at AO 2023, leading to subsequent surgery and a prolonged absence from the sport for the entirety of the season.However Nadal will be back in action with Qatar Open from Fberuary 19th.
