Bengaluru Open 2024, Day 2 Round-up: Sumit Nagal pulls through, Balaji & Ganta-Manish go down

Four Indian players were in action today. While Sumit Nagal went there in his singles match, N Sriram Balaji, Manish Sureshkumar, and Sai Karteek Reddy Ganta faced defeat in their doubles matches.

An action-packed second day at the Bengaluru Open 2024 has come to an end. The ATP Challenger 100 tournament saw 14 matches (11 singles and 3 doubles) get underway at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association.

The day turned out to be a successful one for the seeded players. In singles, all five seeded players went through, with the top seed, Luca Nardi, facing the most resistance. The remaining seeds, Sumit Nagal (2) beat Geoffrey Blancaneaux, Oriol Roca Batalla (8), Benjamin Bonzi (4), and Hong Seong-chan (9) all went through in straight sets.

With only three doubles matches scheduled, the number three seeds, N Sriram Balaji and Andre Begemann, crashed out in a tough three-setter. Wildcards and Indian duo Manish Sureshkumar and Sai Karteek Reddy Ganta also bowed out in straight sets.

Enrico Dalla Valle beat Evgeny Donskoy (6-2, 7-5)
