Rohan Bopanna has done it! He has at last become World No. 1 at 43 years old. This is the stuff that dreams are made of. A story of a tennis player contemplating retirement a few years ago to become the oldest World No. 1 in the history of tennis.

Earlier today, Rohan Bopanna, along with his partner Matthew Ebden, claimed a straight-set victory over Máximo González and Andrés Molteni in the Australian Open 2024 quarterfinal to reach the apex of the ATP doubles ranking for the first time.

In doing so, Bopanna has joined an illustrious list of Indian players to have become World No. 1. The 43-year-old now awaits Zhang Zhizhen and Tomas Machac in the semifinal as he looks to enter his first Grand Slam Final in Australia.
