The Three Lions are dealing with a huge blow with their star batter Jason Roy being ruled out of the tour of Pakistan and most importantly the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Jason Roy has been a key member of the England squad during the reign of the previous England captain Eoin Morgan.
The 32-year-old batter has been leading from the front with his aggressive style of batting. He has scored more than 5500 runs in white ball cricket. However, off late, the top-order batter has not been able to perform well in the shortest format of the game. Jason Roy has managed to score only 78 runs in 6 T20I games with a shockingly low average of 12.66 and a strike rate of 77.55.

Roy though managed to score a century in ODIs against the Netherlands in June, registered rather sub-par performances against India and South Africa. Roy’s chances of making it to the team were hampered when he performed disastrously for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. Roy also suffered a couple of back injuries which made his comeback difficult.
The squad will be announced on Friday by the ECB and there are still quite a few decisions that are needed to be made. Jos Buttler is currently suffering from a calf injury and faces a race against time to pass his fitness test.
Mark Wood who was ruled out for the recent series for an injury is keen on making a comeback to the squad. Wood is scheduled to train with the Test squad to achieve his match fitness.
