Shahrukh Khan scored 33* off 15 balls and walked in when Tamil Nadu had lost two quick wickets and required 57 off 28 balls. He not only survived the hat-trick ball but led the chase and eventually sealed the game for Tamil Nadu with a maximum. Interestingly, the 26-year-old, also hit the winning runs when Tamil Nadu became champions in the previous edition.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings shared a post on its social media just after Tamil Nadu successfully defended their title and also became the first team to win three Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophies. In the post, MS Dhoni can be seen watching Shahrukh Khan’s innings on Television.

This is the third time that Tamil Nadu has won the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, having previously won it in 2006-07 and 2020-21. The side had also made it to the finals in the 2019-20 season and ended up suffering a loss against Karnataka.

Opting to bowl, Tamil Nadu restricted Karnataka to a modest total of 151/7. Sai Kishore starred with the ball for Tamil Nadu while Abhinav Manohar (64 off 37) was the top scorer for Karnataka. Coming to chase, Tamil Nadu were off to a good start as opener Hari Nishanth scored a quickfire 23 off 12 before getting run out. N Jagdeesan scored a vital 41 off 46 before Shahrukh Khan’s late blitz (33* off 15) took Tamil Nadu over the line.
