Novak Djokovic vs Lorenzo Musetti

Lorenzo Musetti earned the biggest win of his career Thursday at the  Monte-Carlo Masters, where he upset World No. 1 Novak Djokovic 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 to reach his second ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final.

Competing in wet and windy conditions on Court Rainier III, the 21-year-old Italian exploited a weak serving performance from Djokovic, breaking the Serbian eight times en route to a two-hour, 54-minute win. After converting his fourth match point, an emotional Musetti looked at his team and shook his head in disbelief.

With his ninth tour-level win of the season, Musetti improved to 1-3 in his ATP Head2Head series against Djokovic. He will next play countryman Jannik Sinner after the 21-year-old defeated Hubert Hurkacz earlier Thursday.

Casper Ruud vs Jan-Lennard Struff

German qualifier Struff upset World No. 4 Casper 6-1, 7-6(8) in one hour and 45 minutes to earn his first Top 10 win since June 2021, when he defeated then-World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev in Halle.

The 32-year-old thundered down 37 aces and broke the Norwegian’s serve four times to advance to his first ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final since Cincinnati in 2020.

Struff is up 36 spots to No. 64 in the Pepperstone ATP Live Rankings following his run in the Principality. He will aim to climb further when he takes on Rublev in the last eight.

Jannik Sinner vs Hubert Hurkacz

Jannik Sinner clinched a come-from-behind victory against Hubert Hurkacz to enter the quarterfinals at the  Monte-Carlo Masters 2023. Having lost the first set 3-6, the Italian also trailed 1-2 in the second set. However he rallied to a 3-6, 7-6(6), 6-1 triumph at the clay-court ATP Masters 1000 event.

He took the second set into the tie-break after recovering from the deficit. However, Sinner was on the brink of defeat when trailing 5/6 in the second-set tie-break. He however kept his calm and clinched three points in a row to take the contest into the decider. He then managed to dominate the third game and sealed a win in the contest.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Nicolas Jarry

Stefanos Tsitsipas is showing little sign of slowing down at the Monte-Carlo Masters. The 2021 and 2022 champion extended his winning streak at the clay-court ATP Masters 1000 event to 12 matches on Thursday with a 6-3, 6-4 third-round victory against Nicolas Jarry.

The second-seeded Tsitsipas delivered a rock-solid display to seal a 93-minute victory against the World No. 58 Jarry on Court Rainier III.

Andrey Rublev vs Karen Khachanov

Andrey Rublev earned his 50th tour-level win on clay Thursday when he moved past long-time friend Karen Khachanov 7-6(4), 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

The fifth seed adjusted well in the windy conditions in the Principality. He struck the ball cleanly from the baseline, hitting 20 winners and returning with depth to advance after one hour and 30 minutes.
