“Perez is in the last year of his deal and if there are no signs of another deal coming, what’s in it for Sergio to help his team-mate in the way Red Bull would like? I think there are a few banana skins down the road.” Croft mentioned.

At the moment, Red Bull has denied any such tensions among the players. The team has not released any statement regarding the said instructions for Perez to follow Verstappen in the final lap. However, Croft confirmed that Max’s father, Jos Verstappen, showed reluctance to join the Perez’s celebration after Saudi GP win.

According to The Telegraph’s Tom Cary, the reaction from Verstappen Senior gave a hint about their feelings for his son’s peer. The row further escalated when Max’s mother accused Sergio of cheating. Following Pérez’s victory, Sophie Kumpen posted a statement on Instagram but quickly removed it. But the scars are still visible.

“As for Max’s dad, all is clearly not well in Jos Verstappen’s mind when his son finishes and leads the world championship, yet he can barely break a smile!” Croft highlighted this in his Sky Sports F1 podcast.

Fans are currently expecting to see a reconciliation among both the Red Bull before they hit the Australian tracks. It will be really stimulating to see how Red Bull tries to manage this crisis.
