According to reports in the Telegraph, Ganguly’s new property is spanned across a 23.6-cottah plot. It is located at Lower Rawdon street – an upscale locality in Kolkata.

This lavish new property happens to be at the dead-end of a usually quiet and peaceful street.

BCCI President LAVISH New Home: The change in address is likely to help the BCCI president in two ways.

Firstly, his new home is located at the heart of the city. Commuting to different places from his new address will be a lot easier for Sourav than it was from his previous ancestral home in Behala.

Besides that, the locality of Rawdon street is not as busy as Behala, which will offer Ganguly some respite away from his packed schedule.

The former Indian captain was ecstatic with the purchase his new property, but at the same time, he was also emotional as he was leaving his ancestral home in Behala after 48 years.

Happy to have my own home. I think that’s what it is. Living centrally will also be convenient, and the hardest bit is to leave a place where I lived 48 years,” he told The Teleghraph.

He will be the co-owner alongside his mother Nirupa Ganguly, wife Dona Ganguly and daughter Sana Ganguly.

The land is valued at INR 1.7 crores per cottah, whereas real estate experts have claimed that this property will be ideal for the BCCI President to build a Bungalow on.

Meanwhile, the ‘Prince of Calcutta’ might see him at an even higher pedestal very soon, as he is expected to contest for the role of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman.

The current Chairman, Greg Barclay is likely to vacate his position in November, and BCCI’s bigshots Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah are in the running to be Barclay’s successor.
