- 19-year old Holger Rune had a disappointing start to the season as he failed to go past the second round in any tournament on the season opening hard court season.
- He however made a dramatic turnaround in the clay court season. He started with a second round appearance at the Monte Carlo Masters.
- He won the Bavarian International title and also made it to the semifinals at Lyon Open.
- He reached his maiden Grand Slam quarterfinal at the French Open, where he defeated seeded players like Denis Shapovalov and Stefanos Tsitsipas. He lost in the quarterfinal to Casper Ruud.
- Since then, he was winless at the Grass Court season. At the US Open, he bowed out from the third round.
- Before the Sofia Open, he reached the quarterfinal at the Moselle Open.
- Tim van Rijthoven’s season took a big turnaround at the grass court season this year.
- He received the wildcard at the Halle Open, where he defeated players like third seed Taylor Fritz, Second seed Felix Auger Aliassime and in the final, he defeated Daniil Medvedev to win his maiden ATP title.
- He then made it to the main draw at the Wimbledon and reached the fourth round, where he lost to Tim van Rijthoven.
