Emma Raducanu headlines first quarter
2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu will begin her Sloavania Open campaign as the top seed after she made a first round exit at the US Open. The 19-year old will begin her campaign by facing 19-year old Dayana Yastremska in the first round. The winner of this contest will face the winner between Elizabeth Mandlik and a qualifier in the second round.
Ninth seed Anastasia Potapova is the only other seeded player in this quarter and she will face USA’s Claire Liu in the first round. Unseeded Dianne Perry and Donna Vekic are also part of the quarter.
Martina Trevisan and Alize Cornet in second quarter
Italy’s Martina Trevisan, who is the fourth seed in the world tournament leads the second quarter. She faces Katerina Siniakova in the first round. Whoever wins this contest will be up against either Aleksandra Krunic or a qualifier.
Alize Cornet, who is the sixth seed in the only other seeded player in this quarter. She will face Kaja Juvan in the first round. In the second round, she is likely to face the winner between Jasmine Paolini and a qualifier.
Elena Rybakina headlines third quarter
Fifth seed Ekaterina Alexandrova faces Marta Kostyuk in the first round. The winner of this contest is likely to face Lesia Tsurenko or a qualifier in the second round. Reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina who is the third seed in this tournament is the top seed in the draw as she will face Lura Siegemund in the first round. Unseeded Tereza Martincova i also part of this quarter.
Beatriz Haddad Maia leads the final quarter
Second seed Beatriz Haddad Maia headlines action in the final quarter of the draws. She will face Clara Tauson in the first round. If she advances to the second round, she is likely to face Croatia’s Petra Marcinko. Marcinko will face a qualifier in her first round contest. Eighth seed Ajla Tomljanovic faces Ana Bogdan in the first round.
