SLK beat SKN, CPL 2021: Du Plessis’ ton helps St Lucia Kings thrash St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by 100 runs in one-sided battle: St Lucia Kings posted a massive total of 224/2 on the back of skipper Faf du Plessis’ first CPL hundred which proved out to be way too much for the table-toppers St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Saturday in the CPL 2021.
Sitting atop the points table with five wins in as many outings, Dwayne Bravo-led St Kitts and Nevis Patriots invited St Lucia Kings to put up a target. Being put in to bat against a side that is unbeaten in the tournament so far, St Lucia Kings made a statement as they posted a huge total of 224/2 on board! Leading from the front, skipper Faf du Plessis returned unbeaten 120 off 60 balls alongside Roston Chase 64* off 31 balls.
Coming to chase, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots felt the pressure right from the beginning and kept losing wickets at regular intervals before being bowled out for 124 runs in 16.5 overs. Evin Lewis (73 off 42) was the lone fighter who tried keeping his side in the run-chase but didn’t get any support from the other side. Alzari Joseph (3-27) and Kemo Paul (3-23) were the picks of the bowlers for St Lucia Kings whereas skipper Faf du Plessis was adjudged man of the match.
