Opener Oshada Fernando went on to score a gritty 64 while Kushal Mendis continued his fine form as he scored a fine 76. Mohammed Nawaz shone for the visitors after picking up a fifer.

Though the rest of the batters departed without scoring much, Dinesh Chandimal continued waging his lone war as he approaches his century.
