The incident took place in the 5th over of the match. It was Phil Salt who looked in great touch. The DC batters had targeted Siraj prior to the start of the over.
4.1 – First ball of the over, Salt gets a top edge and the ball flies over keeper Dinesh Karthik and cross the boundary rope for a sixer.
4.2 – Second ball from Siraj – A slow ball that is pitched outside the off stump. Salt goes for a flat shot over the sweeper cover region and gets the second six in back to back balls.
4.3 – Third ball and a boundary again – A length ball as Salt goes down and hammers it over mid wicket for a boundary.
4.4 – A short ball as Salt ducks for cover. While coming to tap the crease, Salt with a smile on his face, passes a comment. An angry Siraj goes on to confront the batter as a verbal spat ensues. David Warner comes to the middle of the crease from the umpire’s end. Siraj puts fingers on his lips in a bid to hush up Salt. Du Plessis comes to remove Siraj from the DC batter.
