Netzines were left unimpressed by few of the toxic fans’ behavior towards the GT opener and his sister Shahneel. Many fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure and asked the police to take strict action against such cheap fans. One of the users wrote due to such a toxic fanbase RCB always fails to lift the Cup.
While another one wrote, “Due to such cheap fans, Kohli also gets hate from people.” While Kohli’s hundred went in vain, Gill’s sublime ton enabled a comfortable win for GT and a playoff spot for MI.

Speaking about the game, Gill went on to emulate his idol Kohli and scored consecutive centuries. The GT opener scored a chanceless hundred against SRH and went on to score another classy hundred against RCB. Kohli applauded the youngster’s knock and hugged the batter after the game.
Gill considers Kohli as his idol, and never shies away from lavishing praise on the RCB superstar. Kohli also has often said in interviews about Gill leading the next generation.
Gill is keen to continue the good work, and help GT win their second IPL trophy.
“I am in good form, it’s about getting a start and then converting it into a big one. In the first half of the IPL, I was missing out on those big ones. I was getting a lot of 40s and 50s. Thankfully, it’s all working out for me in the business end of the IPL. You need to keep playing shots in T20 cricket. You have to keep the intent and keep applying yourself, keep the belief,” Gill said after the match.
GT take on CSK in the Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2023 season. The match will be played on Tuesday at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
