“When I first saw Sachin Tendulkar in the first Test, he was 21. But looked about 10. I thought this guy was pretty special. He’s smacking us all over the park and he’s 10 years of age. You can tell when players come out and it’s the time they’ve got. That’s the class about them. You can tell that about good players… the time, elegance… it all looks easy,” Shane Warne said.

Then again, the two met in Australia and Sachin Tendulkar bossed over Warne at his own backyard. But the duo maintained a great rapport and even visited Sir Don Bradman together. The two were invited by Bradman on his 90th birthday.
“I remember Warnie was with me in the car and we were discussing who was going to ask the first question. I said, ‘You are from Australia, so you should start’. And he was like, ‘No, you’re a batsman, so you can relate to him much better than what I can’,” Tendulkar had told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2014.

Sachin Tendulkar ended up with 34,357 runs in international cricket in three formats combined while the King of Leg Spin Shane Warne became the first cricketer to get 1000 wickets. He ended up with 1001 wickets with both dominating the field in their era.
On Friday, Shane Warned breathed his last after he was found unconscious in his villa in Thailand.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course,” Warne’s management said in a statement.
