SA20 League: Sunrisers Eastern Cape have revealed coaching staff for the inaugural edition of the SA20 League. As with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), they have maintained the core group intact. Dale Steyn is the bowling coach and Hemang Badani is the batting coach. Meanwhile, Adi Birrell is the head coach and Baakier Abrahams is the assistant coach of SEC franchise. Eastern Cape shared a video on their Twitter page. SA20 League: Dale Steyn and Badani look to keep their good work going with Eastern Cape – Legendary fast bowler Steyn was instrumental in the rise of Umran Malik. Marco Jansen also shined under Steyn. Badani also was pivotal in giving Rahul Tripathi the license to go full throttle in the power play in IPL. Both the coaches will now look to explore such humongous talents in Eastern Cape and continue to keep their good work going.
It also remains to be if Eastern Cape approach Brian Lara as the mentor of the franchise, as they did with SRH.
SA20 League: SA20 Auctions to be held on September 19
The inaugural edition of SA20 League auctions will be held on September 19. SEC have announced their two signings Aiden Markram and death-bowling specialist Ottneil Baartman. The former also plays for SRH in the IPL. He is a gun T20 batter and can change the complexion of the game within a blink of an eye. Markram is also one of the batters ranked in the top 10 of ICC rankings. He will look to keep the good work going with SEC also.
SEC will look to pick other key players in the auction. They will like to build a core group just as they did with SRH.
