Batting first, South Africa had a decent start. But England came back strongly to dismiss the opening pair of Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock. Rassie van der Dussen came to the crease and took charge. He was supported by Aiden Markram who scored a fine fifty. Dussen’s century helped the Proteas manage 298 runs on the board. For England, Sam Curran shone with the ball after claiming a 3-wicket haul.

Skipper, Jos Buttler managed to score some decent runs, but Anrich Nortje and Sisanda Magala claimed 4 and 3 wickets respectively to seal the game in their favour.
