Quinton de Kock, Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada and Rassie van der Dussen were named in the 16-member squad. As the ODI series will get over only on March 23, the players will miss at least the first match even if they skip the two-match Test series.

The primary reason is the three-day mandatory quarantine for players. As the Proteas stars will arrive on March 24, they will only be available from March 27. That means, the likes of Dwayne Pretorius will miss the first match while for the double-header on March 27, they are also doubtful.
In the doubleheader on March 27, DC will face Mumbai Indians while Punjab Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore. That means Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi are doubtful to start. However, there is no update on Anrich Nortje who is still recovering from injury. If South Africa include the IPL stars for the two-match Test series starting March 31 to April 12, they will miss a large chunk of IPL.
