Back-to-back fifties for the skipper – Hardik has been in sensational form for the last two matches as he scored a fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Hardik scored 50 off 42 against the SRH, but his individual performance wasn’t enough for his team’s cause as they ended on the losing side for the first time in the IPL. Hardik for now will be boosted by the fact that he is back in form and firing on all cylinders.
Criticised for slow batting in the last match – Although Hardik scored a fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) he ended up facing criticism for slow batting and a relatively poor strike rate. The hard-hitting batter is renowned for some good aerial hitting, but scoring 50 off 42 deliveries was seen by some fans as a disappointment rather than signs of Hardik being back in form.

In race for Orange Cap– Captain Hardik’s latest exploits have seen him take big jump and possible candidate to win this season’s orange cap. In five matches so far he has 228 runs and resides at the summit in the standings. The GT skipper will now be looking to contribute to his side with the ball as he has a sensational IPL 2022. In the orange cap standings he is ahead of Jos Butler and Shubman Gill.
