Cody Rhodes recently returned to the WWE Royal Rumble event. He participated in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match and became the winner of it. Since then he has been ruling everywhere.
With the win, Cody Rhodes announced that he will be facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 for the WWE Universal Championship title.
Now, The American Nightmare has brought to light his game plan for winning the match against Reigns.
In a chat with BBC Sounds, Rhodes was asked to mention his plan for defeating the WWE Undisputed Champion. Rhodes stated that one of the sobering things about Roman Reigns is that real life happens. He then said “You see it in sports all the time, sometimes the better story is defeated by the better competitor, and I think I have to come into this not sweating the individual that is Roman Reigns, the God tier superstar.”
Rhodes further mentioned that he cannot just ride the emotions of being Dusty Rhodes’ son, the title that his father never got. He said that he will have to be the “literal best” and will have to be as disciplined as possible.
“I just don’t want to be a casual of that.” Said Rhodes.
Rhodes last appeared on WWE Raw this week and shared a brief segment with Sami Zayn. Rhodes stated that he believes in the latter and said that they need to finish their side of the story.
