WTC Final 2023: Another BLOW to India! Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan suffers FREAK injury scare in IPL 2023

WTC Finals: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan to leave for London on May 28, Shubman Gill, Shami to travel after IPL 2023 Final, Suryakumar Yadav, India vs Australia

As per reports, SKY, Rohit and Ishan left for Mumbai in the early hours on 27th May. “Rohit and Surya left together very early from Ahmedabad on May 27, around 4 am. They both will be reaching Mumbai. Ishan also left a few hours back, around 11 am. Not sure whether Ishan is directly going to Mumbai, from where they will catch the flight to England,” a source close to the development told News18 CricketNext.

“I think all of them will head to Mumbai only because most of their luggage is still at Trident, Mumbai Indians’ team hotel. Together they will be less than 24 hours at home before hitting the road again,” added the source.

It remains to be seen if SKY too travels to England. SKY has been named as a standby player in the Indian squad. “Rohit and Ishan are most likely leaving on the 28th, early morning, for England. Surya also could leave with them at the same time but since he is not in the main squad, he could also travel at a later date,” a source aware of the travel plans said.

The first batch of players have already reached London on the 24th of May. These included the players who failed to make it to the IPL 2023 playoffs. Therefore the likes of Virat Kohli, Ravi Ashwin, Axar Patel and other are busy training in England.

The players from GT and CSK who will feature in the finals will travel at a later date. These include the likes of Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami from Gujarat Titans and Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane from Chennai Super Kings. The standby players like SKY and Ruturaj Gaikwad will have to wait before getting final approval for the travel.

India squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Kishan (wk)
