India captain Rohit Sharma showcased his best touch as India dominated proceedings on Day 1 of the IND AUS Nagpur Test. Leading in the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the 1st time, Rohit slammed an attacking half-century to put India in the driver’s seat.
Rohit has displayed attacking batsmanship in ODI and T20Is, but not that often in Test cricket. With India bundling Australia for just 177 on the first day of the first Test, the India skipper came out all guns blazing and took the attack to Australia’s bowlers. He was particularly severe to Nathan Lyon and did not allow the off-spinner to settle. India are looking poised to take a huge lead in the Nagpur Test.
With the pitch set to deteriorate on days four and five, India would be aiming to bat only once in the Nagpur Test.
