In a very short reel posted by the 41-year old on his Instagram account, he can be seen practicing on a hard court hitting some balls and looks completely fit and ready to go. The 20-time Grand Slam Champion last played at the Wimbledon in 2021 in which he faced quarterfinal exit after losing to Hubert Hurkacz.
Federer who had a recurring knee injury and even underwent surgery twice suffered another setback after the Wimbledon due to the same issue and underwent a third surgery in August last year. Since then he has been recovering from it and is all set to make a comeback during the Laver Cup this year, which is set to be played from 23rd September to 25th September.
He has now shown a glimpse of his fitness by releasing this video in which he can be seen hitting some forehands and was seen enjoying his time on a Tennis court after a long time as he leaped in joy towards the end of the video.
This year he missed the Wimbledon which was his first absence from the tournamrnt since 1999. He was seen at the Wimbledon this year but not as a competitior but a visitor. The 20-time Grand Slam champion during the interaction at Wimbledon with media vowed to make a comeback soon.
