Referees in hot waters again, fans left enraged after VAR disallows Luis Diaz goal

After VAR disallows a Luis Diaz goal during Tottenham's Premier League match against Liverpool, referees are in hot water once more, and fans are outraged.

Tottenham vs Liverpool: Viewers were perplexed since VAR didn’t appear to bother creating offside lines while ruling out Luis Diaz’s goal. At Tottenham, the Liverpool attacker believed he had put the Reds ahead.

During Liverpool’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur, VAR disallowed a goal scored by Luis Daz. Replays appear to demonstrate that he was onside. In the 33rd minute of Saturday’s encounter in North London, the Colombian believed he’d put Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead when he beat Guglielmo Vicario with a crisp finish.

However, the assistant raised his flag practically immediately, and the goal was ruled out. Many questioned the judgement once Sky Sports replayed the event. It is understood that VAR examined the goal, but the green or red lines indicating whether Diaz was onside or not did not appear on the screen.

However, the viewers were enraged as VAR referees find themselves in hot water again.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday evening. Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota were both sent off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A Joel Matip own-goal in injury time gave the home team a late win. Cody Gakpo had previously equalised for the Reds in added time at the conclusion of the first half, after Hueng-Min Son’s initial goal in the 36th minute.
