He too confidently dispatched Hart to help Madrid take a 2-0 lead. As Celtic continued to press forward, Merlan Mendy committed a foul inside his box thereby giving a penalty to the visitors.

Celtic’s misery continued as Courtois denied Josip Juranovic to score from the spot as the Los Blancos headed into the break with a two goal advantage. Back from the break, Madrid piled on the pressure and they managed to grab early goals. Marco Asensio scored the fourth goal for his side while Vinicious Junior added the fourth.
Deep into the second half of the game, star midfielder Federico Valverde continued his fine form as he went on to score the fifth goal for his side to register a complete routing against their Scottish opponents. Coming on as a substitute Jota pulled up a consolation goal for his side as the Whites enjoyed a thumping win.
