Real Madrid New Stadium: Real Madrid release video showing the ‘New’ Santiago Bernabeu with space for NFL, basketball, and tennis events- The Los Blancos have released a stunning video of the new design of their famous Santiago Bernabeu stadium. The Spanish giants are arguably the most successful club in footballing history, having won 34 La Liga titles, and reigned European on 13 separate occasions.

With a current seating capacity of 81,044, the Bernabeu has been the home stadium of Real Madrid since its completion in 1947.

It is the second-largest stadium in Spain and the third-largest home to a top-flight European club after Camp Nou and Westfalenstadion.

Named after footballer and former Real Madrid president Santiago Bernabéu, the stadium has hosted the final of the European Cup/UEFA Champions League in 1957, 1969, 1980, 2010.

Earlier this week, the club posted a video to its YouTube channel, as well as its official Twitter page, one which shows all of the new features that are set to be introduced at the Bernabeu.

This includes pitch removal for other sporting and musical events, with the designers seemingly taking inspiration from Spurs’ new retractable pitch for NFL games.

Just as is the case with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, this would allow Real to host NFL, basketball, and tennis events moving forwards.

Real Madrid New Stadium: How much will it cost?

The venue will also improve its conviviality offering with five new establishments dotted around its uppermost section, with a sky bar and shopping mall also located on the promenade.

The re-design surely will not be cheap, figuring a reported £700 million, but it could be unprecedented in terms of producing income for the club moving forwards.

The final stages are due to be completed in June 2022, with the new-look stadium ready to welcome players back for the 22/23 season in August of next year.
