RCB vs CSK in IPL 2021: Devdutt Padikkal opens up about lack of intent in RCB’s batting says,’ We were trying to take the game deep’ – Royal Challenger’s opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal has expressed his opionion on lack of intent in RCB’s batting in the match against Chennai Super Kings here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Friday, where Virat Kohli’s men faced another defeat. Padikkal said that he and Virat were trying to take the game as deep as possible.

“You can always improve. At that time we were just trying to take the game as deep as possible. We felt that the batting is getting tougher and new batsmen will find it difficult to score runs. So we were trying to take the risk whenever possible and pick the right bowler at the right time whenever possible,” Devdutt said in a post-match press conference.
RCB vs CSK in IPL 2021: Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli scored innings of 70 and 53 respectively for Banglore. The duo made a 111-run opening stand. But RCB middle-order failed to gain the benefit from the start provided by the openers.
“We were initially looking at 170-180 but there was no such target as the target could have gone up as well. We were just trying to play the ball on its merit and score runs. Unfortunately, we could not get the ideal finish and hopefully, we will correct this in the next game,” he added.
RCB vs CSK in IPL 2021: Virat might be out of form, might be out of his depth, might need a break to straighten things out, might be mentally fatigued but he never leaves an opportunity to MS Dhoni’s punish Chennai Super Kings. In today’s game, with a 53-run knock off 41 balls, he became the top scorer against CSK with 948 runs.

When asked Why Virat played most of his shots on the leg side? Padikkal said, “It is one of his strengths. I am pretty sure that he could have scored on both sides. It is just a narrow fact that it came off the leg side more in this innings.”
“I will keep plying uppercut. I know I have gotten got two times in this UAE leg playing the same shot. But it is a very high scoring shot. I felt that today it was on, but I could not execute it that well. Getting out will not stop me from playing that shot,” Dev said.
RCB vs CSK in IPL 2021: Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga were sent ahead of KS Bharat in the batting order. When asked about the move Dev said,” They both are very good batsmen and both have the ability to clear boundaries. We have seen that in the practice match and all. Unfortunately, it did not work out this time.”
