The Pakistan Super League aka PSL 2022 is in its seventh edition and as per reports from Geo News, a total of four individuals have tested positive for the virus. It has been revealed that former Proteas batter Hashim Amla who is a part of the support staff of the Peshawar Zalmis team has been tested positive for Covid-19.

The Peshawar Zalmis won their tie against the Lahore Qalandars in the Super Over of the match. However, their better net run rate kept them in the third spot of the points table and thus earned them a qualifying tie against Islamabad United.

The two sides Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United will be facing off against one another in the Eliminator -1 of the Pakistan Super League 2022, 7th edition on 24th February 2022. The sudden Covid scare is a serious hit for the Peshawar outfits and can prove costly in their upcoming tie.

  • Qualifier – 23/02/2022 – Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars.
  • Eliminator 1– 24/02/2022 – Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United.
  • Eliminator 2 – 25/02/2022 – Loser of Qualifier vs Winner of Eliminator 1.
  • PSL Finals – 27/02/2022 – Winner of Qualifier vs Winner of Eliminator 2.

Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators have been knocked out. The Kings have finished at sixth, while Gladiators concluded their PSL 7 stint at the fifth position.

Qualifier round
Table-toppers Multan Sultans will go against Lahore Qalandars, who finished at the second spot on the points table. The match will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 23.

The winning team will go on to the final, while the losing side will face the winning team of eliminator 1 in eliminator 2.

Eliminator 1
Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United, who finished at the third and fourth spot on the points table, respectively, will go against each other in eliminator 1 at the Gaddafi Stadium on February 24.
