Pro Kabaddi 2023: Players who could invite biggest bids at PKL auction

The Pro Kabaddi auction is here and once again, it is expected than some players would surpass last year's record of highest-bid.

Just like the IPL auction, the Pro Kabaddi auction is as big, if not bigger. October 9 & 10 will witness the Pro Kabaddi 2023 players go under the hammer in Mumbai, from 8 PM IST. More than 500 players will be going under the hammer over the course of the next two days. Once again, all eyes will be on the star players, as they will invite the biggest bids from all the teams. Last year, India skipper Pawan Sehrawat bagged a massive contract of INR 2.26 cr with the Tamil Thalaivas but got injured in the first match itself.

This is because the players are expected to invite even higher bids at the PKL auction. InsideSport takes a look at players who could potentially break the record for highest bids.

Pawan Sehrawat

Between last year and now, Pawan Sehrawat has seen a lot of ups and downs. After bagging a massive contract of 2.26 crore, he could not play matches for his team, and then recently, helped India reclaim the Asian Games gold against Iran. He is again in the auction this year and has further enhanced his reputation as a raider. After he moved out of Bengaluru Bulls, the franchise would like to get him back again. But he could start a bidding war, and in that case sky is the limit for Sehrawat.

Fazel Atrachali

He is by far the best overseas player who plays in the PKL. The Iranian is one of the most successful defenders ever, and once again is a threat. A lot of teams are on the lookout for a strong player who, not only leads the defensive unit, but the entire team. Fazel Atrachali fits the bill perfectly. He was sensational throughout the Asian Games, and the team owners would have noticed that too.

Maninder Singh

If the Bengal Warriors don’t use the FBM card for Maninder Singh, then his name could start another bidding war. He led his team to the title in 2019 and is still the strongest raider around. U Mumba skipper Surinder Singh had already made it clear that they would like to get his services, but a lot will depend on if they can spend a bomb for him. It would not be easy for any team to bring him on board. He has the potential to invite the biggest bid.
