Prithvi Shaw Assault: Sapna Gill – Indian Cricketer Prithvi Shaw had a nightmarish night as he was allegedly manhandled, and his car attacked with a baseball bat just outside a hotel in Mumbai’s Santacruz area. The reason Shaw was manhandled because he refused to click more selfies with social media influencer Sapna Gill and his friend Shobhit Thakur on the early hours of Wednesday. The Oshiwara Police have arrested Sapna Gill and booked seven others for allegedly intimidating Shaw by attacking his car and trying to defame him with a false case. Prithvi Shaw Assault: Who is Sapna Gill, and why she attacked Shaw?
For the unversed, Sapna Gill is a social media influencer and has 2,20,000 followers on Instagram. Gill has also acted in movies like Kashi Amarnath, Nirhua Chalal London, Mera Watan, Ravi Kishan, and Dinesh Lal Yadav. Apart from being an influencer, Gill also has a strong online presence on video-sharing app as Josh, multimedia, and instant messaging app Snapchat and YouTube.
About the Shaw Assault
Police officials called Gill to the police station for inquiries on Thursday. After checking everything on the Shaw assault, police officials arrested her. However, Gill’s lawyer defended her and said the influencer just wanted a selfie with the cricketer as she was a huge fan of Shaw. The lawyer said the Mumbai batter was drunk and misbehaved with Gill.
The cricketer obliged two people with selfies but after some time the same group returned, demanding to take selfies again. Shaw refused, saying he has come to eat food with friends and doesn’t want to be disturbed. When they insisted on taking selfies, Prithvi’s friend called the hotel manager and complained about them. After this, the hotel manager asked the accused to leave the hotel.
When Shaw and his friend came out of the hotel after having dinner, the accused were waiting outside the hotel and attacked them with baseball bats and smashed the front and rear windows of their car. Shaw’s friend’s car was also stopped near Jogeshwari’s Lotus petrol pump.
