LovetheSales.com reports that fans collectively splashed out a whopping £32.5m on the jersey in just 12 hours of the kit releasing. The website tracks sales data from over 1,000 UK online retailers. It is believed that the club sold 295,500 shirts and 406,250 shirts between that period, making it the Premier League’s top-selling jersey ahead of Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

The Red Devils’ association with Adidas meant that the Premier League giants will only bag as much as 10 per cent of the revenue from shirt sales. Manchester United signed a decade-long deal with Adidas worth £750m in 2014. Experts believe that Man United’s cut from the shirt will be closer to a maximum of £5 per shirt despite the kits costing anywhere from 80 pounds to 110 pounds.
