Premier League 2021/22 Season Awards: Cristiano Ronaldo misses out on the Player of the Season
The shortlist for the 2021/22 EA Sports Premier League Player of the Season has been revealed, with Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Son Heung-min among those nominated.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is included in the shortlist too, as are Bukayo Saka and Joao Cancelo. It is not just the traditionally ‘big’ clubs represented though, with West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and Southampton skipper James Ward-Prowse completing the nominees.

This means there was not place on the list for last year’s winner Ruben Dias, however De Bruyne and Salah could pick up their second awards having won in 2019/20 and 2017/18 respectively.
The winner of the Premier League Player of the Season will be decided by combining a fan poll with votes of the 20 club captains and a panel of ‘football experts’.

Premier League 2021/22 Season Awards: Manager of the Season
The nominees for the 2021/22 Premier League Manager of the Season have been revealed with Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Eddie Howe among those up for the award.
Completing the five-person shortlist are Thomas Frank and Patrick Vieira, who have exceeded expectations at Brentford and Crystal Palace respectively this campaign.
Klopp claimed the award in 2019/20 and he has guided Liverpool back into contention this term following a disastrous 2020/21 campaign.
Howe will have his supporters too as he has turned around Newcastle’s fortunes after an active January transfer window. Meanwhile, both Frank and Vieira have safely steered teams tipped to struggle well away from relegation trouble.

Young Player of the Season
The Premier League has confirmed the nominees for its 2021/22 Young Player of the Season award, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Phil Foden among those up for the gong.
Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool are chasing a quadruple, though Foden’s Manchester City are well placed to retain their Premier League crown.
Chelsea’s Mason Mount, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, Arsenal pair Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka and Crystal Palace duo Conor Gallagher and Tyrick Mitchell make up the eight-player shortlist.

Foden, who won the award last season, has netted nine goals alongside five assists for City, being a regular feature in an otherwise fluid lineup under Pep Guardiola.
Alexander-Arnold continues to wow with his creative abilities from right back, setting up 12 goals. His Liverpool side have only conceded 24 efforts this season, second only to City’s 22.
