Having been benched in the Round of 16 fixture by Santos, the forward is said to have been quite unhappy with that decision. Even though his replacement, Goncalo Ramos ended up scoring a hat-trick, it doesn’t look like Ronaldo appreciated this move by Santos.

Bruno Fernandes spoke out about Ronaldo being unhappy and validated him. He said, ‘Do you think anyone likes to be on the bench? I don’t think Cristiano would be happy.’ He also continued by saying that if he was benched in the next game, he would also be quite angry.

When Santos was asked if Ronaldo would be part of the Morocco game, he said, ‘Ronaldo will definitely (be involved), all the players on the bench can be used, if they are not in the starting line-up they can play later.’
