His first season in the league was with Delhi Daredevils in 2014. The very next year he picked up 15 wickets in 10 matches to make a big mark. But the 2019 season was the peak of his career as he scalped 26 wickets in 17 matches and left the batsmen flummoxed. His accuracy, when combined with a deadly googly, make him irresistible when he is on song.
However, his IPL career has followed an alternate rhythm with every good season followed by a lean one. Last season saw MS Dhoni not giving him much of an opportunity. His three matches yielded just 1 wicket. But if the trend of his IPL journey continues, Tahir is in for a big haul of wickets again in 2019.

Tahir has played 107 ODIs for South Africa. He returned with 173 wickets in the 50-over format which includes three five-wicket hauls.

In T20Is, Tahir scalped 63 wickets in 38 T20Is for the Proteas. He also took two five-fers in the shortest version of the game.
Imran Tahir IPL Record
The 42-year-old has picked 80 wickets in 58 IPL matches, emerging as the key players for the Yellow Army. He won the Purple cap by bagging most wickets in IPL 2019.
