In the first match of the eliminator, UP Yoddha put on a terrific show as they beat Puneri Paltan 42-31 to seal a spot in the semi-finals of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 on Monday Pardeep Narwal, the record-breaker was back at his best as he took 18 raid points in the game. UP Yoddha will now meet Patna Pirates in the semi-final on 23rd February.

UP Yoddha made a strong comeback in the first eliminator of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 as they took an eight point lead by the end of the first half, with the score 25-17, against Puneri Paltan. Pardeep Narwal showed why he is touted as the best raider in the league as he stepped up on the big occasion to take a Super 10, within the first-half.

Puneri Paltan had made a solid start in the match as they lead the game 9-4 by the end of 10 minutes. Puneri Paltan inflicted an early all-out on UP Yoddha in under 10 minutes and lead by 5 points at the end of the first quarter of the match.
However, UP Yoddha made a brilliant turnaround as they took 15 raid points in the next 10 minutes, completely dominating the Paltans. Surender Gill started the resurrection for the UP Yoddha by picking up three quick raid points. Soon Puneri Paltan were all out as the scores read 10-10.
Then it was the record-breaker Pardeep’s show as he took a super raid that got out 5 Puneri Paltan players. The raid helped UP Yoddha take a massive five point lead with the score at 17-12.

In the next minute, Pune’s defenders Hadi and Vishal produced a super tackle on Surender Gill to reduce the deficit to two points. Just minutes before the first half, UP Yoddha defenders pounced on Aslam Inamdar to inflict a second all-out on Puneri Paltan.
At the stroke of half-time Pardeep Narwal had another three-point super raid as UP Yoddha took a eigh point lead with the scores at 25-17. Pardeep clinched his Super 10.
UP Yoddha continued their dominance in the second half and the lead swelled as Puneri Paltans were all-out for another time. By the end of the first 30 minutes, the team took a massive 11 point lead as the score read 36-25.
UP Yoddha continued their dominance in the next 10 minutes, and they made it a night to forget for Puneri Paltan by winning it comfortably.
