PKL 2022 Playoffs: After intense battle for the playoff spot until the last week of the tournament, the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 now finally has six teams sealing their spots in the playoffs. Jaipur Pink Panthers and Puneri Paltan are at the Top 2 spots and have advanced to the semifinals, while the remaining four teams, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi, UP Yoddhas and Tamil Thalaivas will face in the eliminator. With league stage coming to an end in the the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9, 6 teams are still in fray for the title and the playoffs are set to begin from Tuesday, 13th December. The semifinals and eliminators match-ups are also confirmed now as all the six teams are now gearing up to travel to Mumbai, where the playoff is set to take place.
Puneri Paltan and Jaipur Pink Panthers have sealed the top two spots with 82 and 80 points on the board respectively. With that they have directly earned a spot in the semifinals and will face the winners of the eliminator matches. Meanwhile, Bengaluru Bulls and UP Yoddhas sealed the third and fourth spot, while Tamil Thalaivas and Dabang Delhi find themselves in the next two spots.
Dabang Delhi will meet Bengaluru Bulls in the first eliminator, while UP Yoddhas will be up against Tamil Thalaivas in the Eliminator 2

Jaipur Pink Panthers
Jaipur Pink Panthers rode on some impressive performances from raider Arjun Deshwal, who is the top raider of the season to finish at the top of the points table. They are now a strong contender for the title as they enter the semifinal with a six match unbeaten streak. \
Puneri Paltan
Puneri Paltan was the first team to qualify for the knockouts. Fazel Atrachali led the team brilliantly this season as the team finished with 14 wins, six losses and two ties in the league stage. They were expected to finish at the top of the points table, however a loss in their final league game against UP Yoddhas made them finish with 80 points on the board, two points lesser than table-toppers Jaipur Pink Panthers.
Bengaluru Bulls
Bengaluru Bulls were one of the most consistent sides in the league as right from the start they were maintaining their position in the top half of the table. The team’s raider Bharat has been super impressive for the team as he has collected 257 raid points in the season so far. However they couldn’t seal a spot in the top 2 and are now assured of finishing at the third spot even though they have one more league match left. They will be up against Dabang Delhi in the first eliminator.
UP Yoddhas
Pardeep Narwal led U Yoddhas sealed their fifth consecutive playoff spot in five seasons. They are the only team in the league that has entered the playoff every season they have played so far. They needed to win their last league game in order to seal a spot in the top 4 and they did in style by defeating the Puneri Paltan 45-41 in their last league match. They will now face Tamil Thalaivas in the eliminator.
Tamil Thalaivas
Tamil Thalaivas meanwhile started the season on a very poor note as they managed just a solitary victory in the first leg of the tournament in Bengaluru. Adding woes to their campaign was teh injury to their skipper Pawan Sehrawat, who was ruled out of the season after playing just one game. Their coach Udhayakumar too withdrew himself from the league after the first leg and Ashan Kumar was appointed as the coach. This change worked wonders for the team as they made a terrific comeback in the season.
Raiders Narender Hoshiyar and Ajinkya Pawar put in memorable performances that led the team to its maiden playoffs in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League. The team still have one more match left in the league and will face UP Yoddhas in the eliminator.
Dabang Delhi
Defending Champions Dabang Delhi had a great start to the season and like last year, they were expected to finish the league at the Top spot. However the team lost steam midway through the league facing successive defeats and at one stage it looked like they wouldn’t even be able to reach the playoffs. However they fought well in do-or-die matches and finally sealed the sixth spot after victory against Bengal Warriors in their last league game. They will now be up against a strong Bengaluru Bulls for a spot in the playoffs.
