Jaipur Pink Panthers lost to UP Yoddhas by 34-32. The score at half-time read 15-12 in favour of former champions Jaipur. But Yoddhas up their ante at crucial moments to register the thrilling win in the last match on Friday.
Earlier in the evening, Bengaluru Bulls defeated Telugu Titans 34-29 in the second match of opening PKL 9 day. Scores were at parity (17-17) after the first half. But the Bulls raised the tempo in the second half.
While defending champions Dabang Delhi also went off to a flying start. In the opening match, they drubbed U Mumba 41-27 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.

Dabang Delhi vs U Mumba
Dabang Delhi KC’s Captain Naveen Kumar ensured that his team gets off to a fabulous start at the vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 as he racked up 13 points for his team, which defeated U Mumba 41-27 in the opening match at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.
Dabang Delhi KC earned the momentum as Naveen Kumar pulled off a flurry of fantastic raids. He was backed up brilliantly by defenders Vishal and Sandeep Dhull as Delhi inflicted an ALL OUT to take a massive lead at 11-9 in the 9th minute. Naveen continued to step on the pedal to help Delhi widen the lead at 14-5. The Dabang Delhi KC defense unit led by Krishan kept tackling U Mumba raiders as Delhi led at 19-10 at half-time.

U Mumba showed a bit more urgency in the second half with Ashish picking up some crucial raid points and Kiran Magar pulling off a couple of brilliant tackles, but the Naveen Express kept raging on and kept Delhi in the lead at 28-20 in the 31st minute. With only three U Mumba members on the mat, Naveen effected a multi-point raid and recorded his first Super 10 of the season. Moments later, Delhi inflicted another ALL OUT and led comfortably at 33-21.

Delhi sealed the fate of the match when they attained a massive 12-point lead in the 40th minute. Naveen continued to pick up raid points as Dabang Delhi KC eventually walked off the mat as winners.

Bengaluru Bulls vs Telugu Titans
The Bengaluru Bulls put on a spectacular show for their home fans on Friday evening in the second game of the opening day of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9, swatting away the challenge from the Telugu Titans 34-29 at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium. For the Bulls, Neeraj Narwal finished with 7 points, while duo of Vikash Kandola and Bharat chipped in with 5 points each, helping begin their campaign with a thumping win.
Proceedings going as Vinay got the first raid in very quickly. Siddharth Desai pitched in too, before the defence Bharat and Bengaluru Bulls had their raid foiled. The early momentum was with the Telugu Titans, who were working well as a unit. The hosts, Bengaluru, who have a well-settled core, fought back after the early exchanges, wiping out the slender lead, as Bharat, Saurabh Nandal and Neeraj Narwal led the charge, picking up points in emphatic fashion.
The Bulls inflicted an ALL OUT just before the midway stage in the first half, which saw them edge into a five-point lead. Momentarily rattled, Telugu found another gear with the introduction of Rajnish, whose SUPER RAID set the cat among the pigeons just before the breather. Rajnish engineered an ALL OUT on the Bulls right after, as both teams went into the break at 17-17.

The second half started off slower, but with the Titans still in a slender lead in the first five minutes. However, the Bulls used their review smartly with Neeraj picking up the points on a Do or Die Raid, to bring the contest back to level terms. The Bulls and the Titans weren’t willing concede even an inch, matching each other play by play. With a little over 9 minutes left on the clock, both teams were locked at 23-23, with the Bulls’ defence looking rock solid at the timeout.
An untimely slip caused mayhem for the Titans, as Vishal and co conceded a couple of big points. From then on in, the Bulls put the foot on the pedal, and inflicted another ALL OUT, which gave them a 5-point lead with the score at 30-25.
With the clock ticking, Rajnish and the Titans threw the kitchen sink at the opposition, but the Bulls’ defence were at menacing best, gobbling up the points at rapid pace. The Bulls, who registered 12 tackle points in comparison to the 7 of the Titans, ended their night as comfortable winners.

Jaipur Pink Panthers vs UP Yoddha
Bengaluru: The UP Yoddhas and Jaipur Pink Panthers played out a roller coaster of a contest in the third match of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday. Both sides kept winning points in tandem throughout the match, but the Yoddhas held their nerve and defeated Jaipur 34-32.
Raiders Rohit Tomar and Surender Gill chipped in with points as UP Yoddhas took in the lead at 6-4. However, Arjun Deshwal pulled off a couple of brilliant raids and helped Jaipur Pink Panthers gain the lead at 8-6 in the 12th minute. Soon after, Jaipur inflicted an ALL OUT and took a massive lead at 12-7. Surender Gill chipped in with a couple of raids, but the Pink Panthers led at 15-12 at the end of the first half.

The UP Yoddhas levelled the scores at 15-15 through a stupendous raid by Surender Gill and a great tackle by Sumit at the beginning of the second half. Moments later, Nitesh Kumar tackled Devank to help the Yoddhas inflict an ALL OUT and take the lead at 18-16. Star raider Pardeep Narwal also stepped up his game as the Yoddhas further extended their lead at 21-16 in the 27th minute. V Ajith Kumar single-handedly got the Pink Panthers back in the match with a SUPER RAID, but soon after, Narwal’s heroics propelled the UP team to a five-point lead at 25-20.
Bhavani Rajput effected a SUPER RAID in the 32nd minute and kept the Panthers in the game. However, the Yoddhas managed to hold on to their lead at 28-24 in the 36th minute even though they had only two players on the mat. But, moments later, the Jaipur Pink Panthers inflicted an ALL OUT to catch up with the Yoddhas.The Panthers and the Yoddhas fought toe-to-toe in the last couple of minutes of the match, but raiders Surender Gill and Pardeep Narwal helped the UP side emerge victorious in the end.
