Arjun Deshwal
Arjun Deshwal has emerged as the best raider for not only Jaipur Pink Panthers, but also he is the league’s leading raider. He has picked up a whopping tally of 290 raid points this season so far. Coming into the final, he will pose a biggest threat to the Puneri Paltan defence.
When both these teams met the last time in the league stage, Arjun scored 19 raid points in the match. He has scored two Super 10s in his last 4 matches. He however scored just four raid points in the semifinal against Bengaluru Bulls and will be raring to get back to his best on the big night of the final.
Sahul Kumar
Sahul Kumar has been one of the prime defenders in the Jaipur Pink Panthers line-up. Having been a consistent performer this season, he was at his absolute best in the semifinal against Bengaluru Bulls. He collected mammoth 10 tackle points in that game and made life difficult for the Bengaluru Bulls raiders.
In the final, the Puneri Paltan raiders will be wary of the threat that this man possess. He has so far scored 53 tackle points from 23 matches so far. He is the third best defender for his team in the season.
Ankush
In his debut season Ankush has emerged as the best defender of the league. The youngster has been a mainstay in the Jaipur Pink Panthers line-up this season. He has performed exceptionally well as he has picked up 86 tackle points in just 23 matches. He also has 9 High 5s in the season, which is the most by any player. Ankush will now aim to end his debut season in the Pro Kabaddi League on a high. With the PKL trophy in sight, he will have to continue his good show against Fazel Atrachali’s men on the big night.
Fazel Atrachali
Fazel Atrachali, the captain of the Puneri Paltan has led his team in a commendable way this season. With his never-say-die attitude, he has brilliantly infused the belief on his team that made them rise from several difficult positions. In the semifinal too, they started off slowly against Tamil Thalaivas but Atrachali’s calm-headed approach helped them bounce back and seal victory.
His valuable presence is much-needed for his team for one final time this season. He has been the team’s best defender with 53 tackle points to his name from 20 matches.
Pankaj Mohite
Pankaj Mohite played a very instrumental role in helping Puneri Paltan seal a spot in the semifinal. Mohite spent most part of the season on the bench. However an injury to main raiders Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat made him enter the starting seven. The youngster grabbed the opportunity with both hands. In the crucial knockout game, he was the star performer with 16 raid points that helped the Paltan defeat Tamil Thalaivas.
Since such a performance cannot be ignored, Mohite is yet again expected to make it to the starting seven in the all-important final against Jaipur Pink Panthers. The youngster will look to continue the same form.
