PKL 2021: 5 Young players to watch out for in the Pro Kabaddi League 2021 Season 8 – The eight edition of the Pro Kabaddi League is all set to kick off from December 22, 2021 and the matches will start from 7:30 pm. The most expensive player in season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League is Pradeep Narwal. He has been bought by UP Yoddha for Rs. 1.65 crore from Patna Pirates. The season’s opener is between U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls and the defending champions Bengal Warriors will play against UP Yoddha. The five young players to watch out for are are as follows:-

  1. Saurabh Nandal – Bengaluru Bulls
  2. Pankaj Mohite – Puneri Paltan
  3. Harmanjeet Singh – Gujarat Fortunegiants
  4. Vinay – Haryana Steelers
  5. Sumit – UP Yoddha

Saurabh Nandal – Bengaluru Bulls

Bengaluru Bulls have retained their left corner defender Saurabh Nandal in this season. Nandal made his debut in the last season and earned 56 tackle points in the Pro Kabaddi League. Nandal’s performances played a massive role in Bengaluru’s journey to the knockout stage. The Bulls fans will hope for similar performances from their rising star in PKL 8.

Pankaj Mohite – Puneri Paltan 

Pankaj Mohite played for Puneri Paltan in the last season and was retained by them in the PKL 2021 auction. Like Saurabh Nandal, Mohite began his Pro Kabaddi career in Season 7 and was very impressive. He bagged 110 raid points with three Super 10s in 16 matches he played for them in the last season of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Harmanjeet Singh – Gujarat Fortunegiants

Gujarat Fortugiants retained their young player, Harmanjeet Singh, who plays as a raider. Singh was able to earn only five points from four matches that he played last year. The youngster is likely to have more opportunities this season as Sonu Jaglan has been ruled out of PKL 2021 due to injury. Singh will be keen to impress the team management and cement his place in the playing seven.

Vinay – Haryana Steelers

Vinay made his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League in the seventh season of the PKL and provided a supporting role in the raiding position. He scored 125 raid points with three Super 10s. He has been retained by the Haryana Steelers for the upcoming season of PKL.

Sumit – UP Yoddha

Sumit was the most impressive player in the previous Pro Kabaddi season.  The UP Yoddha defender finished second on the defenders’ leaderboard, scoring 77 tackle points. He was the most successful Indian defender in PKL 2019. The left corner defender was retained by UP Yoddha ahead of the Pro Kabaddi 2021 auction. Sumit will look to continue in the same vein and destroy the opposition team’s raiders along with his captain Nitesh Kumar, who plays in the right corner position for UP Yoddha.
