Gujarat Titans didn’t have the best of starts in 190 chase, losing Matthew Wade early as his struggles in IPL continued. Kagiso Rabada was the bowler to strike. But Shubman Gill looked at his best, hitting every ball from the middle of the bat.
Gill brought up a 101-run partnership for the second wicket with young Sai Sudarshan (35 off 30) to keep Gujarat Titans in the hunt. While Rahul Chahar removed Sudarsan in the 15th over to turn the tide, Gill kept going with Hardik Pandya.

Pandya and Gill brought up a crucial 37-run stand but the tight overs from Punjab Kings meant, GT needed 50 runs off last four overs. With Hardik run-out in the last over, things looked bleak but Rahul Tewatia with sixes off last two balls turned the game dramactically.
Earlier, the match ebbed and flowed with Liam Livingstone first hammering 64 off 27 balls but Punjab Kings’ harakiri and some clever bowling from Rashid Khan saw them struggle. In the end, Rahul Chahar’s 14-ball 22 helped them set a 190-run target for Gujarat Titans.

Punjab Kings were off to a poor start with Mayank Agarwal and Jonny Bairstow falling cheaply. But it was Liam Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan who put a stop in the slide, bringing up a 52-run stand.
Livingstone once again rescued PBKS innings with a 27-ball 64. He brought up his 50 off just 21 balls, second fastest of IPL 2022. While Dhawan suported him well with 35.
But Rashid Khan turned the game around with twin strikes, removing Liam Livingstone and Shahrukh Khan after the Englishman smashed the second fastest fifty of IPL 2022.
