The Men in Maroon will also miss the services of left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell, all-rounders Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers, who have returned Covid-19 positive in Karachi. The three players will be unavailable to participate in the upcoming Pakistan series.

Apart from them, West Indies will also be without regular captain Kieron Pollard who withdrew through a hamstring injury and Nicholas Pooran will be leading the side the understrength side in the shortest format.

The series comes three months after New Zealand quit its first tour to the country in 18 years following a security alert, shortly before the opening match. That was followed by England’s decision to withdraw visits by its men’s and women’s teams scheduled for October.

On the other hand, Pakistan will be high on confidence considering their excellent run in the recently concluded Bangladesh tour. The Men in Green whitewashed Bangladesh in both – T20I series as well as the Test series – and coming back & playing in home conditions acts as icing on the cake for the Babar Azam-led side. They have a rather full-fledged squad and it will require West Indies to punch above their weight to shrug off their last tour disappointment and also bounce back from their T20 WC 2021 disappointment.

National Stadium, Karachi Pitch Report: With only 4 four T20 internationals played at the venue, the side batting first has won three times. And also, all four matches have been won by Pakistan – thrice batting first, once batting second.
