Australia eying their first T20 WC trophy: On the other hand, Australia will be playing their fourth semi-final of the T20 World Cup having previously reached out knockout stages in 2007, 2010, and 2012. The Aussies are yet to win the coveted trophy and will have to end Pakistan’s winning streak to secure a spot in the finals.
Aaron Finch’s side started off well with wins over South Africa and Sri Lanka but were blown away by arch-rivals England in the third outing. However, the Aussies bounced back strongly and claimed convincing over Bangladesh and Windies to make it through to the semi-finals, with a superior net run-rate than South Africa.
