The Pakistan team led by Babar Azam are under pressure after receiving a battering from England recently. Pakistan has also undergone a revamp after the series as PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja and Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim have been sacked. Babar Azam’s role as the skipper of the side is under scrutiny and he needs to deliver in the upcoming series.
However with the absence of their most vital pacer Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan may find it challenging. Pacer Naseem Shah also missed the last Test match against England due to an injury.

Meanwhile, the upcoming match will be the first Test for New Zealand under the captaincy of Tim Southee. Southee has been recently handed over the captaincy duties after skipper Kane Williamson stepped down from the role. The Kiwis too are looking to bounce back after suffering a 0-3 defeat against England in their last Test series.
The winners of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship has fared poorly in the second edition. They have won just two matches out of the nine games that they played.
