Major shock in Indian Wrestling. Both Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya won’t be a part of the Paris Olympics 2024 Qualifiers. The wrestler duo have lost their selection trials held at the SAI Academy in Sonepat. While Punia lost 9-1 to Rohit, Dahiya lost out 13-14 to Aman.
There is still a confusion regarding the rules and the way forward for these wrestlers. The wrestling took place under the Nordic System. As of now, it is a major shock in Indian wrestling that two of the greats lost out on the Wrestling Selection Trials.
Rohit Kumar went on to beat Bajrang Punia in the semis of the selection trials by a score-line of 9-1. It is a major shocker for the Tokyo Olympics Bronze medallist in 65kg bout. Ravi Kumar Dahiya however, lost his qualifier berth to Udit 8-10. Udit however went an lost the finals to U23 World Champion Aman Sehrawa in the 57 kg bout.
