Indian shooters can win medals at Olympics, Abhinav Bindra has a unique solution

Indian shooters have not won a medal at the Olympics in the last 12 years, and have a chance to change the record at Paris 2024.

Shooting is one of those disciplines for India, which raises hopes in every Olympic cycle, only to disappoint in the end. In the last two Olympics, the nation has not won any medal in the sport, and yet it remains our best be, when it comes to Paris 2024 Olympics. India’s first Olympic gold medalist in shooting, Abhinav Bindra has a unique solution to Indian shooters’ problems, and how they can get back to winning ways.

Bindra Tells Shooters to Embrace the Pressure

Abhinav Bindra went on to say that the shooters should embrace the pressure on what would most likely be an imperfect day. As many as 19 shooters have qualified for the Paris Games, and have a great shot at winning a few medals. “Reality is – it’s not just another competition because the platform is the greatest, and most glorified platform in sport,” Bindra told Reuters in an interview.

More on Paris

“The difference is the expectations that an athlete has to confront, the internal expectations as well as the external expectations. You cannot run away from it. You have to learn to embrace it. Once you accept it, you’ll have the best chance to work around it. If you resist it, and try and run away from it, it will hit you at some point.
