Highest score in World Cup: South Africa break all-time record after smashing Sri Lanka in Delhi

Interestingly, three of the five highest scores in the ODI World Cup have been made by South Africa.

South Africa have broken the record for the highest score in World Cup history. After Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen took them past 200 in just 30 overs in the SA vs SL clash in the ODI World Cup 2023, the Proteas were already in contention for breaking the record against an injury-hit Sri Lanka.

After the twin tons by de Kock and van der Dussen, Aiden Markram and David Miller joined the party and saw their side sail past 400 with ease, eventually breaking Australia’s eight-year-old record.
