The wicketkeeper batter simply was bowled over by the fan’s special present and said, “I have never received such a gift like this in my life,” MS Dhoni was quoted as saying by Sports Tiger.

For the unversed, during all of CSK’s seven home matches, Dhoni has been given a rousing welcome. Right from entry while walking out to bat to the post-match presentations, Chepauk has made sure there is no shortage of Yellove to the CSK skipper.
After the final match against KKR, Dhoni, along with his teammates thanked fans for their support by taking a lap of honor at Cheapuk and gifted fans goodies and jerseys. For the longest time, there have been speculations about Dhoni retiring from this IPL 2023 season.
For now, the wicketkeeper batter is keeping everyone guessing, but CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan opened up about Dhoni’s retirement to InsideSport stating, “The right-hand batter might play one more IPL season.”
“MS has not informed us anything about his retirement yet. We understand that the day will come sooner than later. But he understands his responsibility better than others. One of them is choosing the next captain.
At the moment, we do not have many options. Ben has struggled with injuries Jadeja had his chance but could not deliver. So, that may be the reason. But as things stand, MS has not told us anything about retiring at the end of IPL 2023,” a CSK official in the knowhow told InsideSport.

After failing to book a playoff spot against KKR, CSK have their fate in their own hands. The Dhoni-led side takes on DC and need to beat them to ensure a top-two playoff spot. If CSK loses that game, then they will hope for either of RCB or MI to lose their last game for a playoff place.
