Kohli now stands toe-to-toe with his dear friend and former RCB opener Chris Gayle, who also slammed six IPL hundreds during his illustrious career between 2009 and 2021. Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli – the two RCB legends take the top two spots with six hundreds each from 142 and 236 matches respectively. While Gayle has scored hundreds for multiple franchises, all of Kohli’s six hundreds has come for Royal Challengers Bangalore, a franchise he has been a part of since IPL 2008.
The third spot is taken up by Rajasthan Royals batsman Jos Buttler. The current England T20 skipper has five hundreds from merely 95 matches, four of which came in IPL 2022. Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul, who has also represented multiple franchises has four IPL hundreds from 118 matches.
The Australia duo of Shane Watson and Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner take the next two spots with four hundreds apiece to their name. Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson and former RCB batsman AB de Villiers are the two batsmen with three IPL hundreds in their kitty.
A total of nine batsmen has scored two hundreds in the IPL so far. The list includes names like Shikhar Dhawan, Ben Stokes, Quinton de Kock, Ajinkya Rahane and others.
