Breda is the home of Dutch-Moluccan model Rikkie Valerie Kollé. The 22-year-old took over for Ona Moody and is getting ready to compete in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador.
Furthermore, Habiba Mostafa and Lou Dirchs were chosen Miss Congeniality and Miss Social Media, respectively, while Nathalie Mogbelzada, 26, of Amsterdam, was selected first runner-up.
R’Bonney Gabriel, the current Miss Universe from the United States, attended the historic occasion as a special guest.

The new Miss Netherlands was crowned by the previous winner, Ona Moody, and the current Miss Universe, R’Bonney Gabriel from the United States, while donning a tight red gown with a slit above her thigh.
She called the competition process “wonderful” and “educational,” and said that she is “so proud and happy” about winning.
“I made my community proud and showed it can be done.
“And yes I am a trans woman and I would like to share my story, but I am also Rikkie and that is what counts for me. I did this on my own strength and enjoyed every moment.”

Rikkie Valerie Kolle got brutally accused of demoralising women by UFC veteran Jake Shields, as he tweeted on Twitter “ We are living in a time when an ugly man can enter a beauty pageant and we know he will win simply because he’s a man”.
Alot of comments on the post supported Jake’s views as they commented “Women getting clowned on by g*y men. It is embarrassing.”
But on the contrary, by being the first transgender model to win the esteemed title of Miss Netherlands 2023 and the second transgender competitor to win the coveted title at a national beauty pageant, Rikkie Valerie Kolle defied conventional pageant standards.
