Mike Tyson on Pablo Escobar and Che Guevara

Balvin revealed that he is close friends with Escobar’s son. While he did not condone Escobar’s criminal activities, Balvin said he understood the complexity of the issue. “What I’m saying like I’m I’m really close to Pablo Escobar’s son you know like really really close we’re really friends,” Balvin said. “One thing he said is like my dad taught the world how not to do how not to do things you feel me and he was his son he said like listen he was a great father but what he did is the most f***ed up thing ever.”

Balvin said he tries to avoid glorifying drug traffickers like Escobar. “I don’t think someone you gotta glorify because you gotta have respect for the people,” he said. Tyson agreed that figures like Escobar and Che Guevara are complex, saying “But that’s just the way it is some people the way they were being treated or something I wouldn’t say probably but guys like that Freedom Fighters but no one can get their respect so they turn communism.”

Overall, the conversation between Tyson and Balvin highlights the importance of understanding the complexities of history and the impact that historical figures can have on different communities. It is a reminder that even those who are seen as heroes by some can also be viewed as villains by others and that it is important to approach their legacies with sensitivity and respect.

As for Tyson, his podcast “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” continues to be a platform for thought-provoking conversations on a wide range of topics. His openness and willingness to engage in difficult conversations with his guests make him an influential figure in the world of podcasting.
